The biggest problem many fans have had with Reigns as a babyface are his promos. Often cringeworthy, the dialogue does a poor job of reflecting the kind of character WWE are trying to present him as. Roman Reigns is not The Rock, he can't work magic with absolutely anything.
During a throwaway mid-card match on the Raw broadcast after Battleground, Roman could again come through the crowd and destroy both wrestlers working in-ring. Standing right in the spotlight, he'd soak up boos from the crowd. It's absolutely vital at this point that he doesn't smile, this is a meaner, more jaded Roman Reigns.
Again crucial is that his resultant promo remains short, this should not be a lengthy rant. Instead, Reigns can simply say that fans turned their back on him when all he wanted to do was put food on the table for his family. If people in attendance can't relate to that, he doesn't want their cheers.
He'd then say that he will continue to enter through the people and leave that way because it'll be a constant reminder that they shunned him. Think of it as motivation.
