10 Booking Steps For Shane McMahon In AEW

3. The Corporate Ministry Returns with The House of Black

Speaking of bringing back old factions and retelling some of those stories, bringing The House of Black into the fold would be a reference to The Corporate Ministry.

That was far from the best stable ever, but that allows AEW to simultaneously try to do a better job at that angle whilst poking fun at its flaws in a tongue-in-cheek way.

Admittedly, this is a stretch that could be hard to implement. If pulled off correctly, though, it could be the massive shift in allowing McMahon's group to completely overtake the power dynamics that Team AEW and Team Elite would be fighting over. In a sense, it could be written as if McMahon sold his soul and used dark magic to put himself in power, as a commentary on the family's history and a setup for the inevitable cleansing to come at the end of this angle.

AEW loved doing things like The Nightmare Collective, Dark Order, and Chaos Project at the beginning. Since this McMahon story would effectively wrap up many years of AEW lore in one go, there's room to play in that sandbox, too, poking fun at those previous failures.

Plus, with Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews as former WWE talent who have wives still in the company, it furthers that connective tissue narrative and keeps up the AEW vs. WWE angle with a turncoat in Brody King.
