10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (30th Sept)

1. Control The Narrative

CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. The Big Show
WWE

Should go without saying this one but, let's face it, where WWE are concerned nothing ever does. It's such a big week for professional wrestling and WWE get to make the first move. They get to put their "flagship" show out two whole days before AEW launch their televised debut and there are ways for them to force their rivals into backfoot counter programming.

Put on matches of supremely high quality, and pile the pressure on AEW to deliver in the ring. Get some big talking point angles up and running, and force Cody and co. into a hasty rewrite to make sure they're matching them. Just put on three hours of wrestling that'll make your fans happy and don't give half of them a reason to check out the competition. It's basic stuff, but the simple fact is the entire situation is derived from WWE consistently not doing any of that.

And hey, if they are sitting on some huge potential shock (say, oh, I don't know, like a former World Champion and gleaming figure of anti-establishment credibility returning to the company after five years away) don't hesitate to pull the trigger on it. WWE have all the tools to win this war. They just have to remember how to use them.
