Only arriving to the arena a short while before his own match, Roman Reigns would be surprised to learn that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had battered The Usos. Concerned for his cousins, Reigns could nonetheless show some callousness by informing Renee Young in a backstage promo that everyone has to look after themselves.

The reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champ would come across as arrogant simply by showing up later than most, which would be a subtle heel nod. Right from the first bell, he and AJ Styles would have communication problems against Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio.

Such a bout does have a random feel to it, but that would be eliminated due to the ongoing story between champion and top challenger. In a sense, Reigns and Styles would be trying to outdo one another in the match. They'd win, but display definite tension afterwards.

Coming together following the victory, they would exchange light shoves and some serious words. Competitive spirit would be flowing, with fans cheering on the pair to fight. Then, the lights would go out and Reigns would receive some backup he didn't ask for.
