10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (August 22)
Raw could be all about Finn Balor's redemption...
At SummerSlam, Finn Balor faces Seth Rollins for the brand new WWE Universal Title. Naturally, the outcome of that match governs what happens on Monday Night Raw, but there's a distinct chance management will go with Rollins at the pay-per-view. Going forward, this gives the popular Balor something to chase.
WWE also have decisions to make regarding both the WWE Women's and Tag-Team Titles. Do they keep feuds like Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks and The New Day vs. The Club ticking along, or do they push some new faces into those roles? Raw provides the answers, but it might be time to shake things up a little with both.
Development of Braun Strowman will proceed, along with the continuation of a 'Best Of 7 Series' between Sheamus and Cesaro that kicks off at SummerSlam the night before. Meanwhile, Rusev and Roman Reigns will likely keep clashing over the former's WWE United States Title.
Coming out of SummerSlam, there will be a lot to do on Raw. This article uses some guesswork regarding the pay-per-view, but let's look at what WWE could have in store the night after...
10. Seth Rollins Says Finn Balor Now Has Everything To Prove
There are few better at gloating on Monday Night Raw than Seth Rollins. Dubbing himself 'The Man', Rollins gets better the longer his promos go on at times. Should he beat Finn Balor at SummerSlam, the opening of Raw would provide Seth with the ideal opportunity to be at his arrogant best.
Rollins as the first WWE Universal Champion just makes sense. At this point, he belongs in the World Title mix, which the new belt effectively is on the red brand. Balor would also be a good choice as champ, but Rollins as a heel could crow about being the first. There's perhaps more value in a Finn Balor chase.
That would be Rollins point, Balor now has everything to prove. Even in his 'Demon King' form, he failed to get the job done. Meanwhile, Seth - laughably deemed an underdog by some - went about his business and came out the other end with a shiny new championship belt.
Seth's promo here would set the scene for an epic main event to come, set up later by an authority figure.
