10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (Feb 29)

10. AJ Styles And Chris Jericho Defeat The Ascension

It's pretty much a given that AJ Styles and Chris Jericho are going to be a regular tag-team now. On Smackdown, they filmed a backstage promo which had them effectively agreeing that they should unite for the time being heading into WrestleMania. They then went on to team with Mark Henry and defeat The New Day cleanly. On Monday Night Raw, WWE must continue to develop the team, but they could also allow another forgotten duo to shine too. The Ascension are the tag division's whipping boys, so it makes sense to imagine that Jericho and AJ would squash them within a few minutes. Wouldn't it be nice to see Raw open instead with a competitive tag bout that fans weren't expecting? Last week, the emphasis was on the promo and Shane McMahon's return. WWE should look to show off a different side of their product, allowing a fresh tag-team to further develop and their enhancement talent opponents to look a little better than they have done. Jericho and AJ would beat The Ascension, but not without a good fight. Afterwards, Konnor and Viktor could even argue, hinting at either a split or a complete repackaging.
