10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (June 6)
3. Sami Zayn Accidentally Costs Ambrose & Cesaro Match Against Del Rio & Jericho
Thus far, WWE have done an expert job of selling the 'every man for himself' nature of the Money In The Bank Ladder Match. Tag-team bouts have been booked regularly between those involved, but the story hooks throughout each match have rightly focused on distrust and each competitor looking out for themselves in the end.
With only a few weeks to go until the pay-per-view, there's no need to tamper with that winning formula. On SmackDown, Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose paired up to defeat Alberto Del Rio and Kevin Owens. On this occasion, Chris Jericho would replace Owens, and it'd be the heels who picked up the victory.
This time, Ambrose teams with Cesaro, with Owens watching from the ramp and Zayn on commentary. Attempted interference from KO would cause Sami to throw down the headset and look to fight him off. Accidentally, whilst going for his Helluva Kick on Owens, Zayn would connect on Ambrose, booting him in the chin and enabling Del Rio to steal a win.
That gives Ambrose motivation to call out Zayn backstage, possibly even leading to a confrontation on SmackDown.
