At Extreme Rules, The Miz will defend the WWE Intercontinental Title against Kevin Owens, Cesaro and Sami Zayn. The match has an exciting feel, because the writing team have done a superb job of building up the importance of grabbing the title for each competitor.

Due to their own competitive pride, Cesaro and Sami Zayn would be looking to put on a show for Monday Night Raw. Meanwhile, The Miz watched from the entrance ramp alongside Maryse. In the end, his positioning would come back to haunt him, Kevin Owens would be waiting to pick his moment.

Just as the match between Cesaro and Zayn was reaching its apex, it'd be time for Owens to make his presence felt. Pushing Maryse aside and tossing The Miz from his seat to the side of the ramp, KO could march down the aisle and cause the referee to wave the match off.

Furious over being made to look foolish, Miz would nonetheless be unable to get back up and fight Owens, the man he attacked from behind on SmackDown. Thus, Owens would be the one who left looking dominant.
