10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (May 16)

3. Big E Beats Simon Gotch

On SmackDown, Aiden English earned a cheap win over Kofi Kingston amidst the confusion of outside interference from Simon Gotch and other members of The New Day. Naturally, this is all building towards a WWE Tag-Team Title defence for New Day against The Vaudevillains at Extreme Rules.

Another singles match would be fine for Monday Night Raw, this time between Big E and Gotch. As everyone knows, WWE adore telegraph booking. This means that if New Day look like the dominant side on Raw, it leaves things open for a possible title change come the pay-per-view (at least in management's mind).

Therefore, it'd make sense to believe that The New Day would be the ones left smiling after Monday. WWE still have SmackDown to play with if they want The Vaudevillains to look like they're going into Extreme Rules with more momentum anyway.

Big E's power game would be winning the match, leading to Aiden English trying to interfere on his partner's behalf. Unlike Gotch on last week's SmackDown, it wouldn't work for the tag-team challengers.
