10 Booking Steps For WWE SmackDown
10. Book Something (Anything) For Hell In A Cell
Less than two weeks away from WWE's next PPV and there is still not a single SmackDown match on the card. Granted, there're only two for Raw, but we at least already know what's happening in the two big title pictures and, as such, the remaining shows feel like they got a bit of direction at the top of the card.
Kofi Kingston will wrestle Brock Lesnar on SmackDown's Fox debut and that, coincidentally, is the go-home show for Hell In A Cell. WWE will know that they can't really book in another WWE Championship defence until the conclusion of that match, so they really, really need to get a move on with everything else. They've got a Women's Champion getting beaten up by Nikki Cross, Tag Team Champions who were just fed to Strowman, and an Intercontinental Champion who lost in a Universal title number one contender match... all on Raw.
Even if it's a throwaway contest on the pre-show, SmackDown urgently needs to get something on the board for October the 6th. The focus is understandably on the network switch, but that shouldn't be done to the detriment of the bigger picture.
