10 Boring WWE Feuds That Dragged On WAY Too Long
5. Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar
2017 was a strange year for WWE. The majority of the previous year had been a slow build to Roman Reigns against Brock Lesnar, hence the year long Universal Title run by The Beast. Superstars like Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman had been unable to defeat Brock which meant it was an open goal for Roman at WrestleMania 34.
That wasn't the case.
2018 saw Roman reignite his feud with Lesnar after winning the Elimination Chamber. And it was pretty much written in stone from there. Fans would finally see Roman Reigns dethrone Brock Lesnar on the grandest stage of them all. In his infinite wisdom, Vince McMahon decided to swerve fans and instead have Lesnar go over Reigns.
This loss then fuelled a feud that did not need to be extended. The pair continued to butt heads into The Greatest Royal Rumble in which a screwy finish meant Lesnar retained the championship again. Following the victory, Brock was absent again, leaving Reigns to feud with mid-carders such as Bobby Lashley and Jinder Mahal, all the while a huge Brock Lesnar-shaped cloud hanging over Roman's head.
Finally, Reigns was able to defeat Lesnar for the title... almost half a year after the match at WrestleMania 34. The rivalry could have been SO simple. Just have Reigns capture the belt at Mania 34. From there, we wouldn't have had to sit through the "Uncrowned Universal Champion" story. A story that really hurt Reigns in the long run.
