10 Bowling Shoe Ugly Wrestling Matches

9. Chamber Of Horrors (WCW Halloween Havoc 1991)

For the 1991 Halloween Havoc Pay-Per-View, WCW wanted to try something a little different. They certainly achieved that aim, but not for the most positive of reasons. The 'Chamber Of Horrors' opened the show, and set the tone for a fairly bland event overall. The concept was that wrestlers would be locked inside a gigantic cage, and split into 2 very random teams. For example, one side featured El Gigante, Sting and The Steiner Brothers. The other included Big Van Vader, Abdullah The Butcher, The Diamond Studd and Cactus Jack. That was quite the mix, but it wasn't really the combatants that posed the main problem. The only way to win the match was to sit an opponent down in an electric chair and flip the switch to fry them. As over-the-top as this was, the premise was instantly ruined by continuous shots of the switch already being set to the 'on' position. This meant that when Abdullah was slumped in the chair, Cactus Jack had to first move it to 'off' and then back to 'on' to fry him. The brawling was also a mess, because everyone just stumbled around until the planned conclusion.
