7. Chief Jay Strongbow vs. Don Kent (Big Time Wrestling, 1977)
Traditionally, Steel Cage Matches have always been one of the most exciting stipulations in pro wrestling history. The idea of wrestlers locked within the confines of a steel prison together is thrilling, and it has been a terrific way to end many top feuds. The Sheik-promoted Big Time Wrestling in Detroit took things too far in 1977. 'Chief' Jay Strongbow and 'Bulldog' Don Kent were engaged in a big rivalry in the promotion that year. it was decreed that the only way they could settle things was by being locked inside a cage. Instead of a standard steel structure, Big Time Wrestling decided to lock both guys in a 'Shark Cage', one which was roughly the size of the average store cupboard. The cage was in the middle of the ring. Naturally, this made it impossible for Strongbow and Kent to produce anything special. Unable to do anything other than bump against one another and throw weak-looking punches (due to the lack of space), the match dissolved into farce. The unintentionally hilarious addition of the winner having to escape made the bout almost comical.
