6. Hollywood Hogan vs. Warrior (WCW Halloween Havoc 1998)

At WrestleMania VI, Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior produced a fine WWF-style main event. Fans in attendance were red hot to see the megastars collide with one another, and it remains a fondly-remembered clash in wrestling history. The same can't be said for a rematch between Hogan and Warrior from WCW's Halloween Havoc 1998 Pay-Per-View. Problems started with the build, during which Warrior was painted as being inside Hogan's head. Skits such as having Warrior appear in Hulk's mirror didn't work, because fans could see the image too. Meanwhile, Eric Bischoff was perplexed, unable to see what everyone else was seeing. Lengthy promos were also an issue, as both men rambled on during Nitro. When it came time for the big showdown, the actual wrestling was woefully substandard. The 8 years between the 'Mania match and Halloween Havoc hadn't been kind to either man's agility, making the WCW affair a stilted, slow-moving match. Worst of all, the bout went too long, meaning the PPV feed was cut off for many before DDP faced Goldberg in the main event.
