10 Bray Wyatt Matches We Never Got In WWE
3. CM Punk
There is no doubt that had CM Punk not walked out on WWE in 2014, a full-blown feud between the straight-edge anti-hero and the crazed cult leader would have featured in the company’s plans post ‘Mania 30.
There was a short window for this match to happen in WWE. In the back end of 2013, Punk and Wyatt did clash as the Chicago native joined forces with frenemy Daniel Bryan in the GOAT’s tribulations with the Wyatt Family, but this didn’t explode into any real conflict between the two. However, it bears questioning if in hindsight WWE regrets not booking a Punk vs Wyatt program whilst they had the chance.
The two have a history together stretching beyond these battles as well, as Wyatt then known as the dreadful Husky Harris was a follower of CM Punk in the New Nexus stable in 2011. How the tables could have turned if WWE substituted the roles of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk back in the day. This could have been a story centred around Bray now the devious and alluring faction leader, aiming to recruit his former mentor into his ranks, promising the world and delivering nothing. Then we can imagine the amazing promos, let alone the incredible matches. If both Punk and Wyatt land in AEW sometime soon, a match pitting them against each other should happen almost immediately.
