10 Bridge Burners You Will Never See In WWE Again
4. CM Punk
Punk had likely burnt his bridge well before he made his notorious appearance on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast, on which he viciously slated WWE owner-elect Triple H.
By leaving WWE in unceremonious and unscheduled fashion, during the crucial WrestleMania season, Punk's exit forced WWE to rewrite the event from top to bottom. He also indirectly torpedoed the Batista push and left WWE with no choice but to thrust crowd favourite Daniel Bryan into the main event, something they had positively revelled in not doing.
Punk then p*ssed on the ashes over the span of those two hours, admonishing Triple H for burying him when he was at his hottest in 2011, and his subsequent casting as supporting player to John Cena despite outselling him in merchandise sales throughout 2012. He also caused WWE all manner of headaches with the accusations he levelled at their medical practises, a dispute which has still not been resolved to date.
Serious money could be made with Punk's return - a WrestleMania main event with Triple H writes itself - but even if Punk, as many have predicted, embarrasses himself in the octagon, this scenario is inconceivable. He seems to have fallen out of love with pro wrestling altogether.
