10 Bridge Burners You Will Never See In WWE Again

3. Lex Luger

Lex Luger famously and unexpectedly debuted on the first edition of WCW Monday Nitro, in angle which saw him confront Hulk Hogan, while he was in the process of renegotiating his WWF deal.

This annoyed McMahon immensely, and the ire towards Luger only intensified given that Bischoff, realising this was a masterstroke, would use this underhanded tactic time and again to take advantage in the ensuing Monday Night War.

It's telling that Luger's name was singled out by McMahon in a negative light, when, during the ill-fated Invasion angle, McMahon asked his audience which WCW wrestlers they'd like to see. He then "fired" him unceremoniously. Unlike practically every other star listed on that famous roll call, Luger would never again appear on WWE television.

Luger for his part regrets the manner of his exit, despite the fact that he was floundering helplessly in the WWF following his failed attempt at replicating Hulk Hogan's rise to stardom. Speaking on Jim Ross' Ross Report, he expressed his regret over not even giving Vince, with whom he shared a close personal relationship, the courtesy of a phone call.

"I would never do that if we had do-overs in life".
