10 Brodie Lee Matches To Rewatch And Relive

3. The Dark Order Vs. The Elite & FTR (AEW Dynamite 05/08/2020)

The difference that Brodie Lee made to The Dark Order was immense. Just one year ago, critics and fans alike were pointing towards the group as proof as AEW's inevitable decline, an indieriffic stable that shone an all-too-bright light on the differences between professional WWE and bush-league AEW. Before Brodie's death, the stable had developed into one of the most important aspects of AEW content.

This 12-man tag team match was arguably the moment that The Dark Order truly arrived. Brodie led his charges into battle against six of the best in the world, three of wrestling's finest tag teams working as one. One united group proved to be stronger than three groups working together, and the cohesion of The Dark Order was too much for The Elite. In a way, the match whispered back to the Wyatt Family's dismantling of The Shield, all those years ago.

17-minutes of thrilling action and beautiful storytelling came to an end with Brodie Lee on top, establishing The Dark Order as a group to be reckoned with. It set up a host of matches while ticking all the boxes as a standalone bout in its own right. One of the best 12-man matches of recent memory, without doubt.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
