10 Brutal Realisations About WWE Network's Holy Foley!

8. Apparently It's Super Easy To Become A WWE Writer's Assistant

Mick Noelle Foley
WWE Network

Neither education nor experience is required to become a WWE writer's assistant judging by the story told on Holey Foley!, when Mick's oldest son Dewey was able to land the gig despite not appearing to be the least bit qualified.

Although the role of assistant is likely to relegate Dewey to tasks consistent with that of a gopher/runner/errand boy at first, it's still a foot in the door that many creative hopefuls would kill for. In the premier episode, after what was supposed to be received as a "serious talk" with his son in the hallowed Christmas Room, Mick chastised his son for his desire to become a writer strictly because "it was easy" according to the 24 year-old.

The show went from quickly painting Dewey as this uneducated, unmotivated adult still living at home with his parents to a man suddenly capable of not only landing an interview with the juggernaut corporation that is WWE, but to actually get the job itself all without the help of his Hall Of Fame father.

As a lifelong professional wrestling fan, I'm pretty certain that my ability to suspend disbelief goes beyond that of the average person, but this slap in the face was even too much for me.

I'm not sure who's made to look worse in this desperately contrived storyline, Dewey Foley or WWE for hiring someone so seemingly unqualified. Then again, have you seen the WWE creative lately? Yikes.
