10 Burning AEW Criticisms Tony Khan MUST Ignore

8. "AEW Needs Writers"

With input from both men, Tony Khan booked the seminal CM Punk Vs. MJF feud.

It was clearly drawn from Punk and his history with Ring Of Honor, but Khan mapped it out. He also provided the framework for the other great MJF feud of 2022, that being the slow-burn badass theatre of the final phase of the Wardlow push - and on that, just to make Road Dogg's take look all the more pathetic, the transition between those two programmes "connected" with far more elegance and meaning than, say, Seth Rollins jumping Matt Riddle across the summer.

Khan still knows how to tell a compelling, unpredictable story designed to make the destination feel elusive, premium, worth shelling out $50 for. Is MJF really going to try and beat Jon Moxley clean? It's a hook, and since nobody knows the outcome, the drama will be palpable.

The undercard is something of a mess, granted, and certain favoured tropes, like the endless f*cking recruitment attempts, are growing increasingly tiresome - but the idea that Khan needs "help" creatively is stupid and wrong. He gets help! All of the time!

From his incredible roster of talent in whom he places blanket trust to get the bones of a story over!
