4. Will Roman Heel It Up?

By now, we’ve all heard the line enough to repeat it along with Roman Reigns: He’s not a good guy, he’s not a bad guy, he’s just the guy. While this line served a purpose initially, WWE’s seeming insistence to turn it into a catchphrase is either an example of how clueless the company can be, or it’s a brilliant part of an overall strategy to add some shades of grey to Roman’s character.

Since winning the title, Reigns has begun to display a bit of a smug attitude in his promos and mannerisms. Remember how dismissively he looked at Sami Zayn when he came out to answer the call of who would be a good #1 contender? A lot of it is subtle right now, but if Roman continues to shows this cracks in his façade, then we might actually be seeing something somewhat interesting.

Sure, there’s plenty more that should be happening with Roman first, but this is one thing to keep an eye on. If Roman gets more smug about AJ Styles, then we might be seeing more of these shades of grey. Whether that’s the right thing going forward is another question.
