1. Will Brock Factor Into Royal Rumble?
Earlier, this column speculated that Brock Lesnar is returning to WWE to continue his pursuit of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship he never lost. One obvious way to reignite that chase would be for Lesnar to enter the Rumble in an attempt to win back the title. However, that idea is fraught with problems. If Lesnar enters the Rumble and wins the title, then that just casts Roman Reigns back into the role of underdog, which finally clicked in a short burst last month, but might not work again, especially if Brock is the champ. If Lesnar gets tossed from the Rumble, then unless WWE is using his elimination to set up a WrestleMania match (whether for the title or just another rivalry match), it would be a waste. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8wFXBG4Q4g Theres always the possibility that Lesnar has a one-off match against someone else to build toward Mania. Hes already been announced for Fastlane, so maybe he gets a match against someone like Sheamus to set himself up to become #1 contender at Fastlane. But that again could be problematic, wasting a PPV appearance on a meaningless match. The Rumble would be a logical spot for Brock, but how hes booked in it remains a question. Hopefully things will come into focus on Monday.
