As of right now, the field for the 2016 Royal Rumble is one-third of the way filled, with Roman Reigns, Big Show, Chris Jericho and the Wyatt Family comprising most of that group of 10. That means there are 20 spots open for a match that is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Logically, you can assume that former champ Sheamus, secondary title-holders Alberto Del Rio and Dean Ambrose and other stars will fill several spots, but there certainly is the opening for some surprise entrants. Could someone from NXT come up to compete for the world title? Maybe NXT Champion Finn Balor attempts to become a double champion with the help of his incoming Bullet Club mates? Or perhaps former WWE stars will return for a one-off appearance (think Rob Van Dam). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLoevStADm8 If WWE really wanted an off-the-wall appearance, have Ric Flair enter as the guy who won the last Rumble in which the title was on the line. It realistically has no chance of happening, but if youre going to dream, dream big. Still, itll be interesting to see who begins to fill out the remainder of the slots.
