Reigns vs. Rollins, Styles vs. Cena, and a MITB ladder match. There's a lot to set up!
Its hard to believe were two months removed from WrestleMania, the biggest show of the year, and things have both curtailed and changed so much. Two months ago, fans were lamenting the endless push of Roman Reigns as the guy at the expense of everyone else on the roster.
Today, Reigns has toppled AJ Styles and run roughshod over his running buddies and seems poised to own the just-returned Seth Rollins who despite a huge positive reaction has been shoehorned into playing the villain because Roman is the hero in this story.
OK, maybe things havent changed all that much.
The point here is that were two months removed from WrestleMania and despite having a new world champ and the return of two major stars in the past month (Rollins and John Cena)fans would be excused if they felt like WWE was treading water heading into Sundays PPV, Money in the Bank. That, of course, would be because the company is on the verge of its second brand split, as the roster will be divided in two between Raw and Smackdown.
What this means is all speculative right now. Hundreds of column inches have been written about this topic across numerous wrestling websites, and that will continue well past the July 19th brand split. Until then, however, we still have a PPV coming up and a go-home Raw to get through.
