Ditching the godawful butterfly belt and abandoning the name Divas from WWEs lexicon was a huge step forward for womens wrestling in WWE, make no mistake about that. If nothing else, at least weve made those strides.

But the promise of better angles, better matches and more attention being paid to the womens division seems to be faltering in recent weeks. Thats not the fault of Charlotte and Natalya, who have carried the top feud for the past month-plus. Theyve done the best they can with the material theyve been handed.

At some point, WWE has got to right the ship. Charlotte has come into her own as a heel champion, but she is sputtering as she continues to fight placeholder challenger Nattie and spars with Becky Lynch. These feuds are somewhat played out, even with Dana Brooke inserted into them. If WWE is trying to hold out until Sasha Banks is ready, then WWE better hope that comes soon.

Until then, lets hope the women get themselves back in gear on Monday.
