10 Cancelled WWE Shows
3. Superstars
In 1986, Superstars wasn't just another WWE wrestling show - it was the wrestling show. By the time of its cancellation, it was nothing more than busywork for underemployed mid-carders, or the final floor of the elevator en route to the exit door for the company's least relevant talent.
Until 1993 - and a bit beyond - if you wanted to keep up with affairs of the squared circle, Superstars was must-see television. It was the place where angles enjoyed their inception or apotheosis, where gold could actually change hands without paying money to see it, and where the top players - the eponymous 'Superstars' - deigned to show their faces.
It was Raw what did for it. The shift to (irregular) live television gradually transformed the cutting-edge Monday night show into WWE's flagship, and once the Monday Night Wars kicked off in earnest, The Undertaker's knell had sounded for the last time on the long-running flagship. After an agonising spell on life support as supplementary content, the plug was finally pulled in 2016.
