This is the sole representation for multi-man ladder matches on this list because otherwise, the entire 10 could have been made from the ludicrous things that have involved three or more men mixing with ladders over the last 25 years. While many of the others feel perfectly calibrated for their spots, the dangerous moments being clearly thought out to ensure the safety of each competitor, the fatal 4-way ladder match at Armageddon is...not like that.

It's an interesting match to start with, due to the distinct assortment of opponents competing for the titles. There's the cocky heels MnM, the respected smaller technicians Paul London and Brian Kendrick, the risky Hardy Boyz and the grounded bruisers in Dave Taylor and William Regal. The differences between them makes for an interesting styles clash, and the frantic pace gives each team distinct moments to shine, with the champions London and Kendrick showing their amazing chemistry as they keep fighting through relentless brutality.

However, the match goes off the rails about halfway through during a ladder spot in the corner, when things go wrong and the ladder collides with Joey Mercury's nose, shattering it into pieces. His bloody face, with the bone clearly dislodged from the impact, immediately shifts the dynamic of the match into a chaotic nightmare. Nitro has to fight without a partner since Mercury's taken to the back, blood is stained everywhere on the canvas, and each man is suddenly throwing themselves around with justified panic.

There is an overwhelming amount of danger unlike any other match of its type because of the botch, it creates anxiety for each subsequent ladder spot because we've seen the consequences when things go wrong, and it makes the match one of the most captivating disgusting contests in WWE history.
