It's sobering to think that World Championship Wrestling once tried to claim that The Big Show was the son of Andre The Giant. Upon his debut in 1995, Show was simply known as The Giant, wearing a singlet eerily reminiscent of Andre's. WCW were smitten with their latest acquisition.

Hulk Hogan had been the one responsible for bringing The Giant into the fold, once telling him that he could see dollar signs in his future. For that very reason, Hogan was willing to do something pretty out there for Giant's first match, drop the WCW World Title to the rookie.

At Halloween Havoc 1995, The Giant became the new World Champ. Following around 15 minutes of action you'd expect from someone new to the wrestling profession, Jimmy Hart turned on Hogan and helped The Giant bag the belt. Virtually from that moment on, Paul Wight - the man playing the role of The Giant - had his career set. He's still reaping the benefits to this day in WWE.
