10 Celebrities WWE Continues To Ignore For Hall Of Fame

3. Cyndi Lauper

The role of Cyndi Lauper in the "Rock 'N Wrestling" era of WWE in the mid 1980s was very important. She was a legitimate musical act that was out there getting involved with WWE by having "Captain" Lou Albano, a famous manager from that period, in her famous "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" music video. Lauper was also part of WrestleMania 1 as the babyface manager of Wendi Richter, who challenged Leilani Kai for the Women's Title. Lauper saved Richter from an attacking Fabulous Moolah during the match. After Richter won the title, Lauper went after Moolah again and the crowd reacted in a big way to it. That's because Lauper was such a big star. When Lauper was on Raw in June 2012 doing an angle with Heath Slater, there was barely a crowd reaction because she was well past her prime. It was still cool of WWE to acknowledge her. WWE chooses to ignore her for the Hall of Fame likely because she's not a popular figure anymore, so adding her wouldn't get much press for them. That's what it's about more than anything.
