Ready to Rumble was a WCW-based feature-length film that made WWF 80's era film No Holds Barred seem completely plausible. However, David Arquette's real-life 2000 WCW Heavyweight Championship win was the moment at which yes, WCW likely gained more mainstream awareness than ever before. However, that awareness came at the mortgaging of having any suspension of disbelief with WCW's in-ring product. Unsurprisingly, WCW literally closed one-year later.
