10 More Changes We Expect The WWE Network To Make

10. Shut It Down?

WWE have been losing money all year. When the first figures came in WWE Network had only garnered 667,000 subscribers. A month later Vince McMahon reportedly lost over $750 million when WWE€™s new deal was nowhere near as lucrative as he had promised investors it would be. The subscriber numbers haven€™t climbed in a way that WWE would like, and are currently around 731,000 - less than one-hundred thousand more than the initial sign-up numbers. If things continue on their current course, it€™s not impossible to see Vince McMahon choose to shut the service down. He€™s no stranger to failed ventures, with the World Bodybuilding Fedaration and NFL-alternative, The XFL, being notable examples. This would be a controversial move though, as among those fans that do subscribe, WWE Network is beloved, and for many is now the new status quo for how they watch wrestling. Shutting down WWE Network is still the least likely option for McMahon. First, it€™s less than a year old and is still finding its feet and finding an audience. Secondly, and most importantly, to shut down WWE Network would be admitting defeat, which is something Vince McMahon rarely ever does.
