10 More Changes We Expect The WWE Network To Make

9. Get Rid Of Pay-Per-View Access

One of the most revelatory aspects of the WWE Network is access to every single WWE pay-per-view live and HD as standard. Usually WWE pay-per-views are $55 to $60, (or £15 in the UK) but now for just $9.99/£6.25 a month, wrestling fans have access to all of those pay-per-views, plus everything else that comes with the overall WWE bundle. Pay-per-views have long been the bread and butter of WWE, and they contributed a significant amount to their overall income. Even though buy-rates had been falling, it was still an incredibly lucrative business. Trying to change the business model after thirty years may leave WWE significantly out of pocket. If it comes to it, WWE may take the live pay-per-views from the Network, adding them at a later date, similar to what they do with current episodes of Raw and SmackDown. Another possibility would be a tiered payment system similar to cable where you pay for certain packages which gives you access to different sections of the Network€™s available content. While this is a possibility, the pay-per-view aspect has been one of the main selling points of the service, and to remove it would alienate far too many fans for WWE to consider risking it, but you never know with Vince McMahon.
