George Lucas is often criticized as a writer for his insistence to tell you what you're supposed to be feeling instead of just letting the narrative tell the story naturally. WWE is a lot like George Lucas.

Comparing WWE to NXT almost seems unfair, but perhaps the thing NXT does best is just letting the show present itself. At its core, NXT is just a simple professional wrestling show, and it doesn't try to be much more than that. Their commentators are rarely trying to sell you on the importance of women's wrestling, and instead will just let the women put on great matches of their own.

The audience doesn't need to be constantly reminded about things that the in-ring storytelling can be doing itself. Actions speak louder than words. People can become invested in things without shoving it four feet deep down your throat.

Transitioning this mindset to the main roster and just focusing on the action would help create a product that's more of an enjoyment than a chore to invest yourself in.
