10 Changes To Make WWE Smackdown's Thursday Move Successful

Now's the perfect time to make some stylistic, atmospheric and philosophical changes to the blue brand.

The last time Smackdown aired on Thursdays full-time was way back in 2005. Ten years later and Smackdown is moving back to its original Thursday time slot. The move from Fridays is a big deal, as evidenced by the way that the WWE has chosen to have Daniel Bryan€™s in-ring return take place on Smackdown this Thursday. The WWE also shook up the announce teams heading into the show€™s move back to Thursdays, by transferring Hall Of Famer Jerry €œThe King€ Lawler from Monday Night Raw to Smackdown to announce alongside Michael Cole and Byron Saxton€ and that shake-up might not be the last. Rumors are circulating that the WWE has been considering instituting a soft brand split, making some superstars exclusive to Thursday nights in order to draw more eyeballs to Smackdown, now that it€™s not in the death slot of Friday nights. The idea of a soft brand split is absurd (you either go all in on a brand split or don€™t even try), but the idea of making changes to Smackdown to garner more eyeballs is definitely the right move. Thursday is a night where more people are home and free to watch TV than Friday nights. This week€™s move is the perfect time to make some stylistic, atmospheric and philosophical changes to the blue brand in order to draw more people into watching each and every Thursday. So let€™s take a look at 10 changes that the WWE could implement to Smackdown to make the show€™s move to Thursday nights as successful as possible, shall we?
