10 Changes WWE Will Make Post-Vince McMahon

1. Less Reliance On Part-Time Returns

The days of Bill Goldberg returning for semi-regular paydays may be over.

McMahon had his lineup of emergency backups who'd return for Saudi Arabian stadium shows or other major events like WrestleMania and SummerSlam. Goldberg has become the darling of that role in recent years, but each comeback has played before diminishing levels of interest from a jaded audience.

Nobody's saying for one minute that Bill, The Undertaker, Kane, Lita or Trish Stratus should bugger right off for good, but they shouldn't be relied upon to pop a quarter hour rating or make big pay-per-views worth watching. WWE's first concern should be elevating the full-time roster into those lofty spots.

It's no use that Vince repeatedly pushed the regular crew to the side so that Goldberg could have another short-lived World Title run or act like it was 1998 again. WWE's future is paramount, not the past. That past can still be celebrated without putting it front and centre.
