10 CHIKARA Wrestlers WWE Fans Need To Discover

2. Eddie Kingston

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1AGjIQKxNE First things first, if you've not watched the above promo you are doing yourself a disservice. Watch it, and watch it now. Delivered to hype that match that would produce CHIKARA's first Grand Champion, it is as emotional as professional wrestling promos get. More so than anyone on the CHIKARA roster, Eddie Kingston is the man who would seem most at home in a WWE (or NXT, for that matter) ring. A 13 year veteran, Kingston has worked in a number of other promotions including Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and his tougher than tough style is more engaging than most. The guy can talk too, as show in the above video. Kingston was CHIKARA's first ever Grand Champion, his reign lasting two and a half years (although CHIKARA was on hiatus for some of that). He is as dominant a competitor as CHIKARA has ever seen.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
