10 Classic Teams Who Returned To WWE Past Their Prime

1. The Nasty Boys

With successful runs in both WCW and WWF, The Nasty Boys became multiple time Tag Team Champions. While never the most gifted in-ring performers, Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags were capable of putting on good matches, particularly when paired with physical competitors like Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne or The Steiners.

That being said, by the time 2007 had rolled around, their heyday was squarely in the rear-view mirror. Despite this fact, 'The Nasties' were given the chance to perform at the 20 November SmackDown taping, squaring off with Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre in a dark match. The result was said to be a total debacle.

After taking an age to get to the ring, The Nasty Boys were apparently all over the place; Knobbs stood with his back to the hard cam, while Sags entered the ring right beside his opposition. In addition to this, the duo were reportedly very stiff - particularly with McIntyre, who was only 21 at the time.

The match marked their first appearance in a WWE ring in over 14 years. Unsurprisingly, it also marked their last. Despite the awful showing, TNA would still hire them three years later.
