10 Classic WrestleMania Moments (WWE Won’t Ever Brag About)

3. Where's The Beef? Seriously Where Is It

Clara Peller rose to fame with the three-word catchphrase "Where's the beef?" Each word was comprised of one syllable. She must have uttered those words a thousand f*cking times. And she still botched her big moment at WrestleMania II which, in fairness, was the overarching theme of a misjudged experiment of a show.

Brought in as guest timekeeper, Gene Okerlund introduced her with a very clear reference to the Wendy's chain catchphrase, by saying her name directly, and broadly gesturing in her direction as a cue. Peller, eyes peeled on the floor, looked up and mouthed "Now? Do I say it now?" She also mouthed the catchphrase, even with a massive microphone in hand. Even better, even if she had actually spoken into the microphone, we'd only have heard "Where's?". As she spoke the words "the beef!" she yanked the stick away from herself in a rather unfortunate gesture remindful of a certain leader of a certain genocidal political party.

Long gone, she has since faded into irrelevance, and thus so has the clip - but this hilariously exposed the folly of ushering in untrained celebrities, as opposed to say a Pamela Anderson, who hated being there so much she wished she could have slow motion ran the hell out of there.
