10 Classic WWE Era Superstars That Would Still Get Over Today
1. Mr. Perfect
Everything about his gimmick - aside from that awful Jheri curl/mullet combo - was timeless. Honestly, what cocky bad guy since Curt Hennig's debut hasn't borrowed a few plays from the Mr. Perfect playbook?
He literally wouldn't have to change anything about his schtick. Hell, the guy could keep the exact same template for those "Meet Mr. Perfect" vignettes, swap out bowling for some type of extreme sport (The Perfect Base Jump, anyone?) and audiences would still bite.
Because we love to hate anyone who claims they don't have any flaws. Possibly even more so today than back in 1988. (Audiences back then still had a huge soft spot for Superman, after all.)
And that's not even taking into consideration the fact that Curt Hennig could wrestle an instant classic with anyone on the roster. He worked magic with top tier guys like Hogan and Ric Flair, but also possessed a knack for elevating even the likes of The Red Rooster and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake to heights they'd never seen before.
Just imagine Mr. Perfect in his prime going toe-to-toe with Kurt Angle. And now try to hide your arousal.
