With the wrestling climate changing so rapidly nowadays, it’s fair to not rule out some AEW encounters for CM Punk, or at the very least, encounters with talent currently on the AEW roster.
And there's no trash talking villain on that roster quite as highbrow as Maxwell Jacob Friedman. His charisma and in-ring presence commands attention, and his path to great things is pretty well assured. Should he cross paths with Punk, irrespective of promotion, egos would flare, sparks would fly, and fans would get a hell of a show.
With the potential for verbal exchanges being the most explosive of its kind, this is one of the many examples on this list where the build up would be easily as magnificent as the match itself. However, when the event finally does transpire, seeing Punk finally slapping the chops of MJF's smug features would be historical.
It would be a grand way of putting Punk back in the game, and another deserved boost to MJF's rise to worldwide recognition.
