10 CM Punk Ironies He Doesn't Want You To Realise

10. Punk Dislikes The Trappings Of Fame?

CM Punk recently tweeted the following - "John Hughes made amazing movies. Movies with characters that spoke to me. Timeless unforgettable stories. Then he disappeared. Respect." The implication was obvious, CM Punk feels like his wrestling career should be the same thing. Fans shouldn't be hassling him about what he used to do, they should just enjoy the amazing matches he left behind. The Punk storylines that spoke to us should be kept as the timeless memories they are. Just like John Hughes, Punk should now be respected for disappearing. Here's the thing though. John Hughes didn't take to a public forum where he constantly flagged interest in himself. He wasn't making comments that were designed to get pats on the back - he genuinely didn't need the adulation. He was a satisfied man. Punk in contrast is the opposite. If he wants to disappear, then disappear. Don't post daily tweets from @CMPunk. If you're posting tweets from a wrestling account, and tagging other wrestlers (@AJLee) then of course the internet wrestling community is going to keep their fascination alive. It seems like Punk isn't against the trappings of fame as much as he suggests. He likes some of the attention.
