9. WWE Physically Burned Him Out... Nope, It Was His Own Ring Style
A further irony about Punk are the reports that WWE burned him out. Punk himself has alluded to this, in tweets he made about having his health above all other things. His supporters are the biggest perpetrators of the myth, constantly saying Punk had no choice but to leave WWE because the company drove his body to breaking point. The truth is though, Punk was responsible for his own physical decline. Go back and watch some of his Ring Of Honor battles, or any of the other indie dates were caution was thrown to the wind. That's where the damage was done. You can't work like that and not expect to pay for it later in your career. The same is true of Daniel Bryan, who is currently having to deal with a neck issue that ruined his main event push. The simple reality is, when you run your motor at full throttle, the engine is going to wear out. Punk gave his everything in the ring, and ultimately, it left him a wreck. It wasn't WWEs fault. If anything, they made his style safer.
