10 CM Punk Matches You Need To Relive On WWE Network
3. CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar (Summerslam 2013)
"The Best versus The Beast." Let's face it. Scrappy underdog babyface CM Punk wrestling Brock Lesnar was far more exciting than comic book hero man John Cena attempting to vanquish a foe. Cena is similar in build to Lesnar, which makes the two of them fighting, well, less than believable when Lesnar kicks Cena's ass. The time and effort that CM Punk put into developing his fanbase and having engaging matches are what made his never-say-die demeanor and willful intent to fight Lesnar toe-to-toe believable, and makes this match awesome. Of course Punk loses here. He was brutalized by a chair and then F-5'ed after literally giving his all. Though a point to be argued, it's a completely engrossing struggle of a match that in many ways may have cemented Punk's WWE legacy as not just one of the "best in the world," but maybe as one of the "greatest of all time."
