10 CM Punk WWE Matches We'll Never Get To See

7. Kevin Owens

In many ways, Kevin Owens took up on the indies where Punk left off. Punk didn't look like a professional wrestler (whatever that means), and neither does Owens, but both made it through their ability, charisma, and willingness to work harder than everyone else. Both Owens and Punk were known for their talking ability, but both more than backed it up inside the ring.

Owens’ bullying style comes with hints of sparkle, in many ways the reverse of Punk. Punk was a stylish wrestler who wasn't averse to throwing fists if fists were needed. A Punk/Owens match would be a fight between two non-WWE guys who adapted their styles to become stars in the big sea.

CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens is a match that could headline any show, anywhere in the world, at any time. Both are as comfortable in heel roles as face ones, so the mileage with alignment changes could have also created a rivalry for the ages. We’ve yet to see Owens work as a face in WWE however, so Punk would have to wear the white hat this time.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
