10 Common Criticisms WWE Don’t Deserve Blame For

2. Relying On Part-Time Stars

Criticism: Attend WWE house shows and you're very unlikely to see star names like Brock Lesnar or Ronda Rousey. Further, old stalwarts like The Undertaker, Triple H, Chris Jericho and John Cena are occasional special guests rather than part of the regular crew.

This is deemed problematic because it causes separation between those touring weekly and those who pop their heads around the door for a quick pay day during peak season (Royal Rumble-WrestleMania) or to prop up a specific show. Using part-timers to beef out supercards without them appearing weekly on TV is annoying.

Why It's Not Deserved: Is it really though?

The "reliance" on part-time stars isn't quite as cut and dried as it's made out to be. WWE as a brand arguably sells more than any individual these days. That's the strength of the organisation in 2018; they can sell tickets without announcing key matches.

Performers like Lesnar, Rousey, 'Taker, Triple H, Jericho and Cena are useful tools for marquee matches, and they're a huge part of the reason for WWE's success, sure, but not the sole one. It'd be foolish for Vince McMahon to turn down the chance to use them anyway, because their popularity speaks for itself.
