10 Common Criticisms WWE Don’t Deserve Blame For

1. Raiding The Independent Scene

Criticism: The rise of NXT has necessitated WWE's need to raid the independent circuit for suitable, top-level talent that can appease the brand's wrestling-centric audience and eventually move up to shows like Raw and SmackDown.

This has left the indy scene with a dearth of workers, and it hurts smaller companies when WWE keep swooping in to take the best performers away from them. Boo to WWE, and boo to their monopolising tyranny, especially when it affects the business outside their walls.

Why It's Not Deserved: People seem to forget that WWE are a selfish business, no different to any other. If ROH or PWG had the resources to have the best at their disposal, they would, and the fact remains that (to an indy fan's chagrin) some of their heroes want to live out their own childhood dreams of signing a WWE contract.

Those who don't? Well, they don't. Nobody forced a worker like Adam Cole or Aleister Black to ink deals with the promotion. If they didn't want to be there, they wouldn't, so to claim WWE are "raiding" or "stealing" from the independent scene is ludicrous.

They're offering opportunities, and often more money than those people think they'd make elsewhere. It's their choice.
