10 Conclusions From WWE Money In The Bank 2015
4. Owens Is Made
If Kevin Owens wasn't already a star after his victory over Cena at Elimination Chamber, he sure as hell is now. He may have lost this rematch, but it contained so many heart-in-mouth near falls and innovative offense from both men as to leave the Columbus, Ohio crowd chanting 'This is awesome'. It might be an over-used chant these days, but boy, did Owens and Cena deserve it. WWE fans now know what to expect from the NXT Champion, and that's fantastic matches. Win or lose, those people are going to pay for a card that has Owens' name on it.
WWE got the aftermath spot on as well. Owens might be awesome folks, but he's still very much a heel, and a badass one at that - which he proved by attacking the US Champ after pretending to accept the Cenation Leader's sportsmanlike handshake. A powerbomb to the outside of the ring left Cena in so much pain that he required help back up the ramp. As it stands, Owens looks like way, way too much of a nasty piece of work to ever turn face.
It leaves the WWE Universe wondering what comes next for both men - will there be a rubber match at Battleground with the US title on the line? Owens has surely outgrown NXT, and could be set to become the new United States Champion.
