The moment Big Show's theme rang out to interrupt the beginning of Ryback's first scheduled defence of the Intercontinental title against The Miz on the June 1 RAW, WWE fans groaned. The Big Guy vs Big Show didn't (and still doesn't, to be fair) exactly have 'wrestling classic' stamped all over it. That, and serious heel Show tends to be, well, dull.

It's been anything but, so far. The Shell-Shocked on RAW was a truly astonishing moment - one that might have been better saved for the PPV, true, but it served to generate interest in a match where there previously was very little. Following Ryback's match with Miz on SmackDown, Show came down the ramp dressed in his casuals (polo shirt and a big ol' pair of trousers, possibly adapted from a tent) to threaten his opponent on Sunday with the Knockout Punch.

Now, Ryback kicking out of that - a move that usually spells the end for those on the receiving end - before delivering another bone-shattering Shell-Shocked, would be an awesome way to begin his Intercontinental title reign.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
