10 Consequences Of Ronda Rousey Losing Her UFC Championship
6. Her Movie Career May Take A Hit
The most marketable aspect of Ronda Rousey, the actor, isn't her acting. It's the fact that she can be billed as UFC champion. That's not to say that her acting is bad, but she's still developing as an actor. In short, she's not winning awards any time soon. The question now is, do studios still want to be in business with an ex-Champion? It doesn't have quite the same ring to it. There's no way, for example, her Entourage appearance would have worked had she lost the belt prior to being cast in the movie. She has signed on for a few films, including Mile 22 and the Road House remake. Those will move forward, but as far as future projects, it's hard to tell. Gina Carano, who took the Rousey route from MMA to Hollywood, has done pretty well for herself, but has had nowhere near the success of Rousey, and that's arguably because she didn't have the big championship to market herself with.
