While CM Punk is not an obvious contender for Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania 31, and would largely depend on Punk returning to the WWE before 2015, he is a contender that could work a fantastic wrestling bout with Goldberg and leave fans with a memorable WWE match up. If given the green light by the WWE Creative Team this match could showcase the most explicit clash of wrestling styles since The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 26. After all Punk is a renowned technical talent who would contrast brilliantly and dynamically against the brute strength and power of Goldberg's wrestling repertoire. Equally Punk is one of the most talented talkers the WWE Universe has witnessed in years. He could easily work an angle with Goldberg where he uses his microphone skills to cut numerous promos on how Goldberg's WWE return is strictly about 'cash' and personifies why he left the WWE after the Royal Rumble as he is 'sick and tired' of the corporate WWE powers allowing part timers back into the ring and take his spotlight despite the fact that he works a full time schedule 364 days of the year. Clearly a match between Punk and Goldberg might seem farfetched for now, but if Punk is seeking to return to the WWE then perhaps it would prove to be an ideal opportunity to bring both him and Goldberg back into the WWE fold and pave the way for an intriguing rivalry.
